Competencies are sets of demonstrable proficiencies and abilities that individuals use to achieve a goal or complete a task. They typically combine skills, abilities, and knowledge and can include the specific behaviours a person carries out to succeed in their role.

What are some examples for skills and competencies?
An example of a soft skill is adaptability, and an example of a hard skill is graphic design. An example of a behavioural competency is conflict management and a functional competency is strategic planning.
