Inspiration Day 2020

On June 5th, we are happy to invite you to our first Australian Inspiration Day, co-hosted with Deakin University and Griffith University. In collaboration with Australian Universities, join us to discuss Empowering Pedagogies with FeedbackFruits.

During the online Inspiration Day, we will discuss successful use cases, look at Dotank projects and provide you with an insight into FeedbackFruits' roadmap. You will hear about speakers from Deakin University, Monash University, Griffith University, Erasmus University Rotterdam and more. We hope that you will play an active part in this day.

This session explains the Self and Peer Review of Teamwork Skills strategy, developed in the Faculty of Science Engineering and Built environment (SEBE). Supporting and encouraging the development of student teamwork skills for the world of work. Students develop evaluative judgement skills against predefined standards next to their skills in giving, receiving and reflecting on feedback. Using Group Contribution Grading for the individualization of team marks.

Teamwork development through self and peer assessment

In the Introduction to Management course, students are asked to prepare a case study before coming to their workgroup meetings each week. This has now been altered to a completely online format, where students are required to prepare the case study using Interactive Document, with guiding questions. During their workgroup meetings via Zoom, students work together in smaller groups to discuss the case study whilst simultaneously using Group Member Evaluation to review each other.

A Learning Designer’s experience transforming a problematic 2nd year paramedic unit with low student satisfaction and excessive failure rates. With the help of Interactive Study Material and Feedback tools this unit is now a flagship in the College. It’s the 2nd year unit that every other unit wants to be.

Together with MITx, FeedbackFruits created the Discussion Assignment tool. This tool enables online discussions, using a combination of assigned and open discussion all students participating will start and receive discussions on their deliverables. MITx uses this tool for different MicroMasters as well as MOOCs on edX.

In her first trimester course for commencing students, Dr Baird runs a structured group assessment where each group of 4 - 6 was assigned a person of importance across the main health disciplines and a poster created on their contribution. In 2020, we used Feedback Fruits to facilitate the peer assessment portion of the assessment.

The Erasmus University Rotterdam, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences and the R&D department of FeedbackFruits have joined forces to create a new tool called Automated Feedback. This tool, powered by Artificial Intelligence, enables students to receive formative feedback on their academic writing skills based on criteria set by teachers. Co-creator, Wilco te Winkel (EUR), will join us to explain the process and first results.

Inspiration Day 2020 will take place in North Pavilion located in the ARTIS Amsterdam Zoo.

Built in 1868, this exquisite building host conferences with up to 120 attendees throughout the year at the heart of Amsterdam.

Inspiration Day 2019

Inspiration Day 2019 took place at Erasmus University.
Discussions about the future of EdTech were led by keynote speaker Philip Uys from Charles Sturt University in Australia and attendees shared their experience with FeedbackFruits' tools.
