Instructors create a dashboard to measure student progress using FeedbackFruits Developmental Portfolio. In this, instructors set up a shared library to host activities, rubrics, and learning journeys, as well as develop a competency framework that outlines the key competencies students need to achieve at the end of the course.
Instructors create learning journeys with different activities and rubrics based on the defined competencies. They can either create these from scratch or use the existing templates.
After receiving assignment instructions, students work on the first draft of the assignment (which can be an essay, video, podcast, slide, etc.) and submit it to the Peer Review tool.
Within Peer Review, students are assigned to review peers’ first drafts. They give feedback based on the instructor-design rubric.
Instructors can also choose to enable the Feedback Coach feature, which generates AI-powered feedback on technical aspects of students’ writing, such as spelling, grammar, structure, and more. This further helps students to improve their work later on.
Instructors provide feedback on students’ first drafts. Thanks to the personalized feedback stage, instructors can have more time to emphasize higher-order aspects of students’ writing, such as reasoning or argumentation.
Based on the feedback received in the previous stages, students improve their work and submit it for final grading in the Assignment Review tool.
Students reflect on the writing and feedback process, what they have learned, and which competencies they have developed. This step is supported by the Self-Assessment tool.
Students export the portfolio and hand in as the summative assignment of the entire course. This portfolio reflects student’s progress towards the desired learning outcomes.
