Instructors set up detailed instructions in the Peer Review tool, detailing the requirements for the assignment and important deadlines. Written documents, video, or audio files can be added to the instructions to provide more explanations. Students read the instructions and discuss their questions with instructors during an in-class session.
Students work on the first draft of the assignment (e.g. research paper, essay, report, etc.) based on the given instructions and using a highly detailed grading rubric, where each assessment criterion is broken down into multiple levels of mastery, each with a clear, pre-defined description provided by the instructor.
Students upload their first draft to the Peer Review tool, where they need to review their peers’ deliverables based on an instructor-designed rubric.
Instructors can also choose to enable the Feedback Coach feature, which generates instant, formative AI-powered feedback on technical aspects of students’ writing, such as spelling, grammar, structure, and more. This further helps students to improve their work later on.
Instructors provide feedback on students’ first drafts. Thanks to the personalized feedback stage, instructors can have more time to emphasize higher-order aspects of students’ writing, such as reasoning or argumentation.
Based on peer reviews received in the previous stages, students improve their work and submit them for final grading in the Assignment Review tool.
