Peer Review

Make high-quality peer feedback possible at scale

Without shared criteria, peer comments default to praise, not something students can act on,  and depth fades fast as cohorts grow. Peer Review gives every exchange structure: criteria, reflection, and coaching, built to deliver better feedback at scale.

Everything you need to make
peer feedback work

With Peer review you can

Set clear standards for quality

Make quality clear with rubrics and criteria built around your learning objectives. Give students a shared framework for evaluating work and producing specific, actionable feedback.

Help students give better feedback

Feedback Coach uses real-time academic AI coaching to help students move beyond “good job” and make their feedback more specific, constructive, and actionable.

Make feedback part of the learning

Let students reflect on and respond to the feedback they receive, turning peer review into an ongoing learning conversation.

Connect self-reflection with peer feedback

Let students assess their own work against the same criteria as their peers. Comparing their own perspective with peer feedback encourages deeper reflection and learning.

Adapt peer review to any assignment

Support individual submissions, group work, or both. Set up peer review for different assignment types while keeping the experience structured and consistent.

Choose the (right) level of anonymity

Choose whether reviews are anonymous or attributed to fit your course goals, whether you want to encourage candid feedback, accountability, or open discussion

Frequently asked questions

How does Peer Review keep student feedback consistent?

Instructors set customizable rubrics that every reviewer works from, so feedback stays anchored to the same criteria across the class instead of varying from reviewer to reviewer. Learn more here

Do students get help writing better feedback?

Yes, if the instructor turns on our Acai Feedback Coach. When it's enabled, it gives students real time guidance as they write. Teachers can also enable rotating feedback tips and a review checklist. Learn more here

Are peer reviews anonymous?

It depends on how the instructor sets up the activity. Peer reviews can be made fully anonymous, so students never see who reviewed them, or fully open, so students can see each other's names. Either way, instructors always have full visibility into every review submitted. Learn more here

What file types can students submit for review?

Peer Review supports documents, presentations, images, audio, video, code files, and more, so it works across disciplines and assignment types. Learn more here

Does Peer Review sync grades to my gradebook automatically?

Yes. Peer Review integrates directly with your LMS, so once an instructor publishes grades, they sync straight to the gradebook automatically, with no manual entry needed. Grades can be published all at once or on a schedule the instructor sets. Learn more here

Can groups complete a Peer Review together, and can teachers grade the quality of the feedback itself?

Yes to both. With the group review option, one student can submit or review on behalf of the whole group. Separately, instructors can turn on Feedback-on-Feedback, an optional step where the teacher reviews and grades the quality of the peer feedback students gave, on top of grading the original submission.
