The framework allows instructors to understand students’ attitude towards AI, thus finding the right approach to guide students in using the technology.
Students learn how to use creative AI and pedagogical tools via teacher guidance and application activities. By engaging critical analysis of AI-generated content and feedback delivery, they also develop feedback giving skills.
Students are motivated to actively study the subject through critical analysis tasks that require reflection, fact-checking and understanding. Furthermore, incorporating ChatGPT can guide students to use it in an ethical way.
Students complete a quiz on their attitudes towards ChatGPT. Based on the responses, instructors can understand how to guide students in using ChatGPT.
Instructors organize an in-class session to introduce ChatGPT: what it is, suggestions on how to use them, and the ethical guidelines surrounding this tool. After that, the writing assignment instruction is provided.
Students use ChatGPT to generate the first draft of the essay. They are also required to document this process in a report.
Students reflect on their AI-generated draft based on a set of criteria, then share the drafts with other groups for peer feedback using Peer Review tool.
Based on the received feedback, students improve the AI-generated draft and submit the final product to Assignment Review tool. Here they will receive teacher’s comments.
Students complete the same survey to reflect on the change in their attitudes towards AI generative tools. They also write a short reflection on their writing process: how they perceive the use of AI generative tools in writing and what they learned from the feedback process.
Based on the reflections and survey responses, instructors organize an in-class session to discuss the use of ChatGPT: How the students feel about using them, and their ideas on how to implement this chatbot in other learning contexts.
You'll receive the journey we draft together for you and our recommendations on how to implement it.
