Activity steps
- Read instructions: Students are expected to read the instructions for the activity and they will learn about the topic to discuss and the assigned background.
- Discussion posts: Students are expected to read the discussion prompt and choose a specific case study to research and respond to. In the discussion posts, students will share research findings, including a case analysis, research, an open-ended question for peers, and a proposed solution.
- Peer Discussion: Students will engage with peers in the discussion posts by asking open-ended questions and responding thoughtfully to at least two classmates.
- Reflection: Students reflect on the outcomes of the activity and their learning.
- Grading: Teachers grade and publish the grades to students.
Activity goals
This activity helps facilitate a flipped classroom approach to your teaching. When student engage with material prior to class there are several benefits:

In this activity
- Modify activity instructions to fit your discussion topic and background, discussions are set to post and discuss individually, you may consider group setup if you teach a large group of students.
- Modify discussion prompt to pace the discussion, you can specify the minimum number of posts and desired length.
- Peer discussion is set to “Free form” to give freedom to the students, you may want to assign students to discussions if your group needs more scaffolding.
- Adjust minimum amount of required posts to be discussed. Currently it is set to 2 minimum.
- Setup grading as required.
