Freyja is a lecturer at the Department of Business and Economics at Reykjavik University, where she teaches marketing-related subjects and serves as the academic coordinator of internships. She holds a Master’s degree in Marketing from Reykjavik University and a BA in Tourism from Hólar University. Currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching Studies for Higher Education at the University of Iceland, Freyja is particularly interested in gamification and active teaching methods, driven by her desire to make her own teaching more engaging.

Erica J Hagen has a dream for every design table of the future to include a group of engineers as diverse as our world, improving lives through sound and ethical engineering. To make it so, she works as a higher education change maker developing instructional practices towards inclusive pedagogy and a passionate advocate for active learning in her role as the Director of the Collaboratory for Engineering Education and Teaching Excellence in the University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Engineering. She also makes music, cuts rocks, and builds stories with her family.

Sara Hagen has a career-long interest in assessment of learning and continuous improvement of curriculum and instruction. Sara taught middle and high school Spanish before joining UW-Madison’s College of Engineering, first as an instructional technologist and now as the Academic Planner and Data Analyst for the College. She works closely with faculty to create new programs and courses, and provides information to support data-empowered decisions. She loves traveling, cooking, learning languages, and playing board games.

Nadia Kelmouss has worked with several institutions across Toulouse and Paris, contributing to numerous projects as a digital learning designer. Her experience spans from consulting agencies and corporate sector to Higher Education Institutions. She holds a degree in instructional design and have dual expertise: technical, with a specialization in LMS management, and pedagogical, focused on course design and the creation of educational content. Passionate about the intersection of technology and education, she is constantly seeking new ways to enhance learning experiences to have a long lasting impact on learners.

With over 15 years of experience in education, Marion Marx has developed a comprehensive understanding of pedagogy, with a particular focus on digital learning. Her journey began as a classroom teacher and later evolved into online instruction. She has also worked in the corporate sector as a pedagogical advisor specializing in distance learning, before returning to higher education as an instructional designer. Deeply passionate about her work, she thrives on designing and creating learning experiences that promote engagement and personal growth. She is also a regular speaker at national and international EdTech conferences, where she shares insights on topics such as formative assessment, boosting learner engagement, and cultivating soft skills, particularly in the context of AI-driven challenges.

Ewoud de Kok is the founder and CEO of FeedbackFruits, an EdTech scale-up with the mission to significantly improve the learning experience of students in higher education and vocational education. FeedbackFruits realizes educational innovation by co-creating didactic and pedagogical technology. FeedbackFruits tools help teachers to challenge students, engage them in class and encourage collaboration between students.
Ewoud is passionate about educational improvement and the effect of good public education as a solution to our social challenges. His passion for educational improvement arose during his search for a more sustainable world during his study of Sustainable Energy Technology at TU Delft. Ewoud is convinced that the impact of public education can be significantly increased if didactic methods are improved and that responsibly developed technology can make this possible on a large scale. Based on this conviction, he founded FeedbackFruits in 2012 and expanded it into a successful scale-up with 90+ employees in 10 years. Sarah Gielen is an educational advisor at the Teaching and Learning Services of KU Leuven (University of Leuven). In this role, she ensures the professional development of teaching staff and teaching innovation in academic education. At the same time, she also coaches teams in their team development. She has 25 years of experience in Assessment in Higher Education. She holds a PhD in Educational Sciences. Her research focused on Peer assessment in group projects and Peer feedback as a tool for learning. Throughout her career, she is energised by projects at the interface of collaborative learning, assessment and feedback, and team development. In her current job, she builds on these interests by supporting teachers in discovering how to set up a powerful learning and feedback environment through educational tools such as FeedbackFruits Group Member Evaluation, while also using valid and reliable summative evaluation of group work.

Cole Groom is a Product Marketing Manager at FeedbackFruits with over a decade of experience using educational technology and 5+ years working in the industry. His personal experience with completing multiple degrees in different learning modalities led him to pursue his dissertation research into the adoption of collaborative edtech tools at higher education institutions, during which he investigated effective strategies for improving technology usage among faculty and students. Building on his findings, Cole has worked in several edtech organizations, focusing on supporting institutions with selecting and implementing pedagogical technology that would enable them to enhance student retention, save faculty time, and deepen the learning experience.

Maria Uglvig is a product manager at FeedbackFruits. Her path to EdTech started when she was a third-culture kid living in multicultural contexts and took shape when she taught and joined the educational committee at Groningen University. Backed by a pedagogy background, Maria is on a mission to transform education, seeking the power of technology to foster student autonomy, innovate holistic assessment methods, and achieve equity in learning environments.
