Activity steps

  1. Read instructions: Students carefully review the instructions and learning outcomes of the activity.
  2. Self assessment: Students start by assessing their own skills using the rubric provided 
  3. Provide peer feedback: Students then anonymously evaluate their peer’s group work skills using the same criteria provided
  4. Received reviews: Students read and reflect on their received feedback 
  5. Grading: Grades are based on completing the reviews, combined with the average ratings received from reviewers and themselves.

Activity goals

This activity helps facilitate a flipped classroom approach to your teaching. When student engage with material prior to class there are several benefits:
  1. Read instructions: Students carefully review the instructions and learning outcomes of the activity.
  2. Self assessment: Students start by assessing their own skills using the rubric provided 
  3. Provide peer feedback: Students then anonymously evaluate their peer’s group work skills using the same criteria provided

Stimulate lifelong learning with peer feedback

In this activity

  • Self-assessment is enabled so that students begin by reviewing their own work, supporting self-reflection and helping them become familiar with the feedback criteria.
  • Reviewer anonymity is enabled to allow students to provide honest and constructive feedback, though this setting can be adjusted if desired.
  • The number of peers to review is set to all peers by default, but this can be modified to fit your course needs.
  • Grading is based on completing the feedback process and the average ratings from both self- and peer assessments, and can be adjusted as required.
