  1. Read instructions: Students review the activity guidelines and learning outcomes to understand the purpose and expectations.
  2. Watch video: Students watch the instructional video on effective AI prompt writing strategies.
  3. AI practice: Students apply what they learned by composing and refining prompts using the AI Practice tool.
  4. Peer review: Students submit a brief summary of their AI chat and provide constructive feedback on their peers’ prompt use, using the rubric provided.
  5. Reflection: Students read the feedback they received and write a short reflection on what they learned and how they might improve their prompts further.
  6. Grading: Grades are based on completion of all required steps in the activity.

Stimulate lifelong learning with peer feedback

In this activity

  • Students begin by watching a video on effective AI prompt writing, which can be replaced with an alternative video if desired.
  • Students practice their prompts by creating an overview of “the history of chocolate,” though any topic of your choice can be substituted.
  • Prompt suggestions are enabled to assist students in crafting effective prompts, but this feature can be turned off if preferred.
  • Peer review is integrated, allowing students to evaluate and provide constructive feedback on each other’s AI prompts. 
  • A structured rubric guides students in delivering clear, concise, and actionable feedback to peers, which can be customized or expanded to fit the course objectives.
  • A reflection step encourages students to consider their learning from the exercise and how these insights can inform their future AI prompt writing and practice.
