In this activity
- An article exploring the pros and cons of smartphones in schools is provided as a sample text. This can be replaced with a topic more relevant to your course.
- Students are encouraged to submit 3–6 messages to the AI Practice chat to develop their prompts and responses. This number can be adjusted based on your activity goals.
- Prompt suggestions are turned off in this activity, as students are already guided through how to structure and refine their prompts. However, you can enable prompt suggestions if you would like to provide additional scaffolding or examples for students learning to use AI.
- Peer review is integrated, allowing students to evaluate each other’s AI prompts and provide constructive feedback, reinforcing critical thinking and collaborative learning.
- A structured rubric is included to guide students in giving clear, concise, and constructive feedback to their peers. You can modify or expand the rubric to suit your needs.
- A reflection step is included to prompt students to consider what they learned from the exercise and how it can inform their future practice.
