Learning Activities Used
Team Based Learning
Foster collaboration and problem-solving skills
In this activity
- This template uses the pedagogical approach of Team-Based Learning (TBL) where students first complete an individual readiness assurance test (iRAT) to assess understanding, then collaborate on a team readiness assurance test (tRAT) to deepen learning through discussion and consensus-building.
- Quiz questions are based on a student field trip visit to a refugee centre, but the topic can be adjusted to fit the focus of your course.
- Students use insights gathered from group discussions during the quiz to inform and enhance their upcoming project work.
- Students provide feedback to their peers on the ideas and perspectives shared during the activity, and they also evaluate the feedback they receive to improve their feedback skills.
- Feedback is given anonymously to encourage honest and open responses, though this setting can be modified if desired.
