Activity steps

  1. Read instructions: Students carefully review the instructions and learning outcomes of the activity
  2. Social annotation: In teams, students answer the “Boss Battle” questions embedded in the interactive  document 
  3. Upvote and instructor review: Students upvote strong arguments from their peers by liking their comments. Instructor then assigns ratings to the quality of the contributions 
  4. Received reviews: Students read their received feedback
  5. Reflection: Students end by reflection on the activity and what they learned 
  6. Grading: Students are given grade for completing the activity

Activity goals

This activity helps facilitate a flipped classroom approach to your teaching. When student engage with material prior to class there are several benefits:
