Activity steps

  1. Read instructions: Students go through the instructions, familiarize themselves with the assignment and tips.
  2. Comprehension: Students will use the Comprehension learning activity to annotate the study material and connect their notes to given topics. There are specific topics outlined by the instructor that they should pay attention to while they read. Students will be considered done when they have met your requirements.
  3. Reflection: Students will reflect on their comprehension and the outcomes of the activity. They can also see the annotations of their peers and reflect on them.
  4. Grading: Instructors review the student's participation and assign a grade for completion.
  5. Implement: Instructors use the feedback and insights gathered from the students to help shape the course and fit it to their preferences and needs.

Develop critical thinking via guided reading comprehension

In this activity

  • This template contains a document related to physics, it has some assigned topics that students need to pay attention to. You can alter this to match your course needs. 
  • Students can see each other's annotations immediately, you can change these settings for annotations to be revealed only after a certain deadline or when students complete their annotations.
  • Anonymity is turned off so that students can see each others discussion points and ideas. Modify this if you would prefer their answers to be anonymous 
  • Grading is turned on to ensure all students provide their feedback and ideas, ensuring that opinions across the whole group are considered and heard
