Group Member Evaluation
Empowering students with a critical and collaborative space
In this activity
- This activity is the final step in a structured learning journey designed to scaffold collaboration and group dynamics across a group project, capturing the definitive assessment of individual contributions at the project's conclusion. The other activities can be found here, here and here.
- By administering a final group member evaluation at the close of the project, educators gain a comprehensive and holistic picture of team dynamics and individual contributions across the full project lifecycle.
- Students evaluate each group member against a structured rubric covering three key areas: contributions and attitude, ability to communicate, and support during the group peer review process.
- Used in combination with the interim evaluation earlier in the project, this final assessment has proved highly effective in mitigating the free-rider problem and keeping students accountable throughout.
- The rubric criteria and rating scales provided serve as a starting point and can be added to or modified to fit the specific needs and context of your course.
- Anonymity is enabled to encourage honest and constructive feedback, though this setting can be adjusted to suit your course structure.
