What is flipped classroom?

In a flipped classroom, students explore new concepts before class through videos or readings, freeing up class time for interactive discussions, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.

Why flipped classroom?

The flipped classroom model enhances student learning by shifting passive content delivery outside of class, allowing for active, hands-on engagement during class time (Bergmann & Sams, 2012). Research indicates that this approach improves student comprehension, critical thinking, and retention by promoting deeper interaction with course materials (Lage, Platt, & Treglia, 2000). Studies also show that flipped learning fosters greater student autonomy and self-regulation, key factors in long-term academic success (Bishop & Verleger, 2013). Additionally, it enables instructors to provide more personalized support and formative feedback, improving overall learning outcomes.

Enhanced performance and engagement

Improved knowledge retention

Students can spend more in-class time applying knowledge through problem-solving and discussion, rather than passively receiving information through lectures which promotes knowledge retention.
