We are proud to share that our Oral Assessment and Practice solution won a Tech & Learning Award of Excellence: Back to School 2026 last month, in the Higher Education category. A panel of education technology experts judges these awards, and over the years they have recognised some of the best known names in EdTech, such as D2L, Turnitin, Blackboard and Instructure.
Our oral tools joined that list in their very first year on the market, which says a lot about where oral assessment is heading. A big thank you to everyone at FeedbackFruits who built, launched and championed them!

AI can now complete most of an assignment at the click of a button, so a written submission shows what was produced, but not always who understood it. When students explain their work out loud, you hear their reasoning, the choices they made and whether they can really stand behind what they handed in.
The poll during our webinar on the return of oral assessment showed that many educators already feel this, with 77% saying they run oral assessments in some form. At the same time, 71% said their biggest challenge is scaling orals to large groups or keeping up with the grading.
Oral Assessment and Practice brings three tools together, and they work in any LMS such as Canvas, Brightspace, Moodle and Blackboard.
Acai is optional in every tool, so you always decide where it helps and where you would rather leave it out.
If you would like to see all three tools in action, watch the replay of "The return of oral assessment, and why it's different this time". Our CEO and Founder Ewoud de Kok and Chief Strategy Officer Bas Hintemann share the research, the poll results and a live demo.
Our ebook Oral Assessment at Scale explains the research behind oral assessment and the barriers that have kept it out of large courses. It also gives you a one semester roadmap, so you can take your first course from decision to first cycle.
